We’ll drive to Mount Khogno Khan Nature Reserve. On reaching the mountain after 4-5 hours you will arrive at a nomadic family Ger in front of this beautifully forested and rocky mountain. The mountain is home to hundreds of birds, deer, and gazelle. We’ll be able to go hiking to the mountain or to the small sand dunes called “Elsen Tasarkhai”. We’ll stay in a nomadic family ger.
We'll drive to Kharkhorin an ancient capital of Mongolia. The Erdenezuu Monastery was the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. In 1586 started the building, but the monastery was not totally finished till 300 years later. The building of the monastery was done with stones from the ancient capital Kharkhorin only. Around 60 temples could be found inside its walls, but the Stalinist purges destroyed many of them and left only 18 untouched. Nowadays the monastery is reopened for Buddhist monks and also for visitors. Late afternoon we’ll drive to the hot spring “Tsenkher” and we’ll stay at the Ger camp and get in hot spring bath.
Day 3, 4
Drive to Great White Lake and Khorgo Volcano. Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National park was established to protect the spectacular mountain scenery and endangered species of fauna and flora. The area has extinct volcanoes, many beautiful lakes, a great number of animals and birds, and is definitely one of the best natural tourist attractions. The Khorgo crater, situated at an altitude of 2.210 meters with a diameter of 20 meters and depth of 70 to 80 meters, is the most interesting at all. We’ll stay at a nomadic family ger.
We'll drive to Telmen lake and we'll enjoy the grassland view. We’ll stay in a nomadic family ger.
We'll drive to Khyargas lake, a salty water lake, which is a great place to stop by whoever heads to the west of Mongolia. It is a one of the Mongolian largest lakes, covering 1.406 square kilometers. It is 75 kilometers long, 31 kilometers wide and 80 meters deep. The lake surface is at 1.028 meters above the sea level. The water is brackish. And has rare fish such as Mongolian Grayling.
We'll drive to Uureg lake. Sleep in a tent.
We’ll drive to Tsagaannuur and get the border permit and will drive a bit more and spend the night in a tent.
We’ll drive to the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park and arrive at registration post. Mongol Altai Mountain range is one of the three main mountain ranges in Mongolia and the highest peaks in Mongolia are all situated in this range. Range continued more than 900 kilometers. Huiten peak in Altai Tavan Bogd is the highest point in Mongolia.
We'll start hiking from the check point to Base camp for 16 kms. We'll spend the night in a tent.
We'll walk along the glacier and climb Malchin peak. Sleep in a tent.
Day – 12
We’ll walk back to the check point.
Day – 13
We’ll drive to Sagsai village to visit an eagle hunter family.
We’ll drive to Ulgii, center of Bayan Ulgii province. We’ll spend the night in a local hotel.
We’ll drive to Ulaangom and on the way we’ll stop at Achit lake. Achit lake is the largest fresh water lake in Uvs region, at an elevation of 1,435 m above sea level it covers an area of 290 km². It is 28 km long, 16 km wide and 10 m deep. The coast is covered with steppes, mostly hilly but swampy on the northwest and northeast. Several rivers also flow into the lake.
We’ll drive to Tes village which is heading to Murun.
We’ll drive to the Moron town in Khovsgol province and stay a night in a friendly guesthouse. You can take a bath there after long driving tour.
We’ll drive to a horse herder family in Tsagaannuur who will arrange horse trekking for 4 days to the reindeers.
Day 19, 20
We’ll start our horse trekking to the Taiga and will arrive Reindeer’s on the second day and sleep in their hut.
Day 21, 22
We’ll riding horse back to the family where we started horse trekking. It’ll take for 2 days.
We’ll drive to the Lake Khovsgol which is one of the country’s largest and most spectacular protected areas. Lake Khovsgol's 380 cubic km of water make it the fourteenth largest freshwater lake in the world and second largest in Central Asia by volume, with over 1% of the world's fresh water. At its deepest, the lake dives 262 meters. Ninety-six rivers and streams flow into the lake, but only the Egiin River exits the lake.
We’ll go horseback riding for a day by the lake shore to enjoy the beauty of the lake.
We’ll take a half day rest and then after lunch time we’ll drive to Moron capital city of Khovsgol province.
We’ll drive to Uran-Togoo in Bulgan province. This beautiful mountain was initially protected in 1965. The mountain is an inactive volcano with a unique natural form.
We’ll drive to the Amarbayasgalant monastery. This is one of the most well known and largest monasteries of Mongolia, is located in the beautiful Iven Gol River valley on the foot of Burenkhan Mountain in Baruunburen soum of Selenge province. Visitors especially enjoy the magnificent art and architectural construction. Spend a night in the Mongolian Ger.
We’ll drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
